Default Update On Mosport Progress (iRacing)

Hey guys, I was talking to Tim Wheatley and he gave me an update on the progress of Mosport for iRacing!!

As it stands Mosport is officially licensed with iRacing, however, they have not scanned it yet. Tim said once the track is clear they will be heading on up north to scan. Once scanned the art team will take over and we can expect Mosport roughly two months later. It is looking like they will release it june or july.

Thank you very much for the update, Michael!! I have been anxiously awaiting any news on the Mosport scan. And I imagine once it is complete, there may be a bunch more real life track drivers on this forum that will finally make the jump to iRacing as well!

Do they need help with the scan?? I have read in other posts where people volunteer to help out. Not sure if they actually do need the help or whether people are just over-enthusiastic, like me . But I think that would be a really cool process to see. Let me know if you have any insight into that.

p.s. now if you tell me the Corvette C6.R is also going to be ready soon, you'll be more popular than Santa Claus!

Looks like June or July or soon after is real.

I was was at a karting event at Mosport yesterday and one of the organizers said the iRacing team was there last week mapping the big track, DDT, oval and even the kart track.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention- I met those guys a couple of weeks ago as well. But one of them told me it would still be around 7 or 8 months! Did he actually tell you otherwise?

I got it third hand; they didn't ask a lot of questions, just knew that they were there. So 7 or 8 months may be after scanning the track then. Bummer!

When I was talking to Tim Wheatley last he said the track would be in the sim roughly two months after she was scanned. Unless this Nascar deal has got in the way I don't see it being released 8 months down the road. You've got to remember there are series like VW and Star Mazda that are depending on the release of the track for the Le Mans weekend.

Ill contact Tim W. once more and see if I can get anymore information out him. I think he may be on vacation in Chicago this weekend, but ill be sure to post his response here when he gets back to me.

Sorry about how long it has taken me to respond, Tim's mail box has been full up until today. Ive sent him a mail about Mosport and will get back to you guys with his reply. Im not expecting him to reveal very many details as iRacing keeps pretty closed lipped about future projects
